Christmas!!!!!!!! Yipee

yay....Christmas time is finally upon us...quite possibly my most favorite time of year, in the running with summer....i love the lights, occasional glimpse of possible snow....and the lights.....they all just make it such a joyous season and then there are the people that try to ruin it by stressing out because of last minute sales...and pulling in a parking spaces when u have your blinker on to pull in.....or bumping into you to get the last of something so they can have it for their own gift....but hey...im not bitter....not in the least....got to go to college station on wed. till today and attented a girls b-ball game and watched clay in acton, then on thurs. went to see the men play auburn...good game, and nice turn out....at the womens game, some eager kid tried to steal a shirt that was thrown up in mine and megans direction....we were the only ones in our section, and the dude saw that and threw it up to us....then as i go down to get it, 2 little kids ranging in ages from about 8 to 12 run and finds the shirt before i do...even though it wont fit for about another 6 years....so the guy that threw it saw this take place, and came and gave us another one...presents came early as usual this yr.....pretty sweet things....headed on a road trip tomorrow with the fam (i pray i dont strangle one of em in the next wk...or ever for that matter) we're headed to ft. worth for 2 days, then to college station for a night, then to beaumont for another night w/ clay....should be fun...fielder road baptist is on the agenda for sunday morning....i always enjoy going there...they're doing good things......Merry Christmas to all...to all....until next time...

been a while

been a while since i did this last..time flies when ur not in football....i been doin mainly acc stuff...essays and whatnot...last night at the sports banquet i was asked to give the invocation by our head coach/ad....which i wasnt nervous about at first, until i was on stage with 300+ people looking at me....my heart beat about 1,000,000,000 times in that 30 secs. i was up there....also been lookin for coldplay tix....went to the a&m-texas game...good game, kinda sad the underdog lost...by the way- women frustrate me.....until next time

so i went back to the dr friday..and its not broke no more, but the pin is very much still in there....and i saw it too...that was exciting...not really but..yeah...saw class A milano play a playoff game..and lose...but class A is a culture shock definately coming from a 4A school and town....looking forward to the new John Mayer Trio live album "Try"...also looking forward to thanksgiving....till next time

surgery went well yesterday...i woke up and told the nurse "sweet cast"....and then asked her about 3 times in all how it went...and all 3 times i got the same answer...but thats alright....i get the humongo cast off next fri and the pin stays in a month from what i gathered.....but nobody tells me what they're gonna do to me, but its whatever....heres a pic of my sweet cast...until next time

these are the words from our coach....talking to me and the guy w/ the real injury...i guess a fractured bone in your hand that requires a pin isn't a real injury....what do i know?..i'm just the one injured...kinda nervous about tomorrow....all the surgeries i've had, except the hernia, i've basically known what was gonna happen and how it would be afterwards....this time i have not a clue..i don't want to be in pain obviously...hydrocodine is good stuff though..that i know is true....mabye tomorrow if i can type and all, i can post pics of my sweet cast or brace or whatever it's gonna be...until next time...

i went to the aggie game this wknd w/ my dogg meg....had good times, they didn't win but its all good...we had a pretty good time...just found out about the pastor from UBC Waco...i can't even begin to describe that....its just awful....i just can't even imagine...my heart hurts for those folks...anyways...surgery on weds...lookin forward to getting it over with...no doubt about that...looks to be a long wk....until next time..

Today marked the 18th anniversary of my birth, i feel as young as i did at age 5...yeah right...considerin my hand is broke and all...we find out tomorrow what exactly is wrong, and what we shall do about it....hopefully not a cast, but i've never had one of them...so i wouldn't know...but we'll see....we play hendrickson on fri. and they're in 2nd in district, and if we win, we go to playoffs prolly for sure...but we have to beat Del Valle next wk too....so hopefully we do good this wk...to show my astro pride, i posted a pic of me, freshly 18, and my astro hatt....got stros'...until next time

last night we played winless elgin, and won 49-24 i think..maybe 28...i don't remember....but i basically lived out the title of the new ryan cabrera's cd "you stand watching" cuz i stood...watching...by what seems like such an insignificant injury...we also had a few others go down, 2 w/ knees, 1 w/ shoulder, then there were already 2 down, me included..so for injuries, last night was a bad night for us...but it's all good...go see specialist next thurs. so we'll see what he says...hopefully not surgery...been there, done that too many times...so anyways....until next time

Drs office calld this morning, with some bad news...turns out my pain, swolen thumb has a fracture of some kind at the base of the thumb, which probably puts me out of comission for the season...they said it lookd like an old injury, so i might've hurt it working....(stan and jeremy, my lawyer shall be calling)..but it is 2 months old, which i guess counts as an "old" injury...but we'll see what they specialist does for it....too bad i have to spend most of next wk pondering that too....i wanna know what to prepare for, but this is the first broken bone i've ever had, and it seems so insignificant, but yet so significant......i need my thumb to turn those little knobs and attempt to make people sound good...but anyways, i just want to get well and not worry about football....God obviously has worked in a mysterious way by not revealing this injury to me earlier, because if he did, i'm sure i would've been done after that 2nd game (the game i had my 60 yrd interception return in!).....so i'm glad i made some memories, wish i could've made more...but it's all good....until next time.....GO ASTROS!!!

ugh.....coaches

why can't all coaches be created equal. like coach monsen, who always wanted a hug....our current head coach always looks like he is in need of a hug, but he makes us so mad with his cut-down comments about how soft we are, or how we're the worst team ever, nobody wants to give him a hug...but today was dr. visit day for my ailing thumb that i have put up with since about the end of august, and tape just doesn't do the trick....so i went to see ole' bart, and his advice was "sit out at least a wk and see a specialist"...so next thurs. i have an appt with a specialist so..i will be out at least this wk, and next wk. probably...not like i played anyways... but when i told the coach all of this, he pretty much told me about how he played with broken fingers all the time.....basically he is some sort of "injured football saint"that knew no pain in his heyday....but times have changed partner...especially when i don't play, and don't care to play for this coach....after this wk, 2 wks of football, and i don't know if i'll even play again....oh well.....fun while it lasted.....until next time

last night the opponent was Pflugerville Connolly.....#1 team in our district, we were naturally the underdog, and naturally we played scared and they played like the good team they are...i got about 2 plays this game, doubling last wks total, but since the score was 50-14, i did get more time than that because of kick returns....so....we played bad, i didn't play much, what else is there.....next wk we have elgin wildcats, winless on the yr....hope we win....here's a sweet pic of my boys.....obviously a passing play, so obviously i'm not in...until next time

This wk, Plfugerville Connoly..number 1 team in our district, very tough opponent....not looking forward to tomorrow, but at the same time...countdown to end of the season, t-minus....3 wks and a few days...YES!!!....until next time..

"Well Hi!"-Gran

This is one of my fondest memories of my Gran, when I would get handed the phone after my mom talking to her, she would say "Well Hi" in the sweetest voice. But her journey ended on Sat. night, Oct 1. I got to be with her as she passed, which is one of if not the toughest things i have experienced in my entire life. Watching someone pass on is sad, but yet she is definately going to a much much better place where she can be in no more pain. i must say, to some extent i am jealous. We buried her on tuesday morning in a nice small ceremony, which i bet is what she would've wanted. I will miss my Gran. That is for sure. But to know that she is w/Grandaddy and to know that i will see them one day. something i am definately looking forward to. So anyways, watchin the Astros. They are currently losing, but......they can pull it out. Homecoming tomorrow night against the Taylor Ducks. Until Next time...

Prayers please!

I was just told about my grandmother on my mom's side is currently in a coma and is receiving hospice 24/7 now. which means she is near the end, and ready to meet Jesus. This has been evident for sometime now, but it still isn't easy. I would just ask that anyone and everyone offer your prayers not only for her not to be in any pain, but also for me and my family as we go through this time. Thank you.

UGH....PEOPLE ARE CRAZY!!!!

i share my sister's frustrations about hurricane rita...after katrina, people all over the state are freaking out about this storm. massive yes, but.....as far inland as we are, come on now...thats just insane...no need for all of this madness..i don't think...i could be wrong though..that has happened a time or two.. i need some R&R, so i plan to play golf sometime..prolly tomorrow..even though i am horrible..but we shall see...was supposed to go to a&m game vs. texas state, but..due to circumstances beyond my control (parents and hurricane rita and people freaked out) i wasn't able to make it....i'm not bitter though..yeah right...but i, i will survive...until next time

game 3, loss #1

what a butt kicking....we lost agaings lake travis, #10 in state....their homecoming....they wuppd us 49-14....we scored 14 unanswered in the 4th quarter.....what now punks....but they were a good team, they played at another level....but we learn from it, and move on to game #4..gonzales...our homecoming....let the games begin....thanks to those that have supported me and our team this yr...please continue to do so.....at the VAlencia hotel now for a dance lesson gig...i'm not the one learning how to dance though....darn.....this place is too krunk though.....right on the riverwalk, very romantic for stanley and i....ha ha....then tomorrow i get to go (if we can get in) to see chris tomlin at austin city music hall with louie giglio...do a live recording...krunk i know...until next time

we got it done...final score...48-6.....i played a lot, cuz they put the scrubs in....naw...just joking....i played a good amount before they put the scrubs in, then i played even more w/ the scrubs in..so.....but i had a nice interception and return.....my family got it krunk...u know how we do....so anyways...next wk, Lake Travis....ranked about #7 in the state....their homecoming.....they think they will smash on us.....our mindset is to shock the world...so....we shall see..until next time

It's been a while....

man the new casting crowns is awesome...mark hall has a way of telling "the church" to wake up......first home game this friday, and first pep rally and what not....really don't think it will be any different than the away game, just more people that want us to win....9 more games to go, regular season....this wk we play Austin Johnston....they have more talent than the last team had, more speed, so it will be a good test for us....i hope we play better and put them in their place early in the game.....on this day, about 20 something yrs ago, my friend and colleague Jeremiah Hellums was born.....happy b-day bro...until next time

well....we won

first game results....we won 15-7...it wasn't pretty, wasn't ugly either, but...wasn't pretty....we could've played a lot better, and should've killed Lanier...but we got the W and now move on to next wk and Austin Johnston...last yr they went 0-10, but we can't look past them either....i was pretty nervous, but it turned out not as bad as i thought....i had fun, and it was cool to see the result of why we've worked for so long....well....nice weekend off filled with 1 day off, and homework, and football practice monday morning at 7:30....until next time....

I strongly dislike government!!!

Not the actual government, cuz i thank God daily for a free world...and for my hero George W. but i dislike the class....and the book......the book takes about 20 pages to talk about the same thing...over and over...i just decided to read the paragraphs with bold terms...i know....i am a smart man....not much going till friday, first game and what not....nervous, but ready to get it over with at the same time....VERY READY!!!!!!....until next time

Gone are the days of spending 12-14 bucks for a cd that has one song on it that i like..the masterminds behind iTunes and similar stuff are pure genius...i just got done purchasing 14 of the freshest tracks in christian music...and some secular stuff too...I wouldn't call the new Tommy Lee single christian, so i would catergorize it as secular....but it is pretty good jams...the new Crowder and Mark Schultz singles are awesome..Matthew West's new single is fun too....i checked out our story on the news...i'm only in the background...sorry punk didn't get my catches...oh well....i will just have to make the news in a real game...Jordan's party was great, and i would insert a pic or two, but i forgot my camera...so....until next time

My how the time flies!

just got home from ft. worth seeing my grandma on my mom's side...she is not looking good and it seems like every time i see her, she is less and less with it...it's just sad to watch...sh e's weaker and weaker and she probably weighs less than 100 lbs.. just sad....well second week of school....our off week in football, so just practice this week... and last week of doin nothing before ACC starts...fun fun...just picked up sting "brand new day" cd..sounds pretty cool...first song anyways...had fun "bonding" time w/ my momma...don't get that often enough...till next time

Second scrimmage against hays..!

we scrimmaged hays...supposedly #7 team in Central Texas...if we were keeping score, they had us by a touchdown 28-21....all they had was two good running backs...thats it....they didn't have much talent...and their 80 year old coach (just an estimate) a living legend, was funny cuz he like never even coached his team...he just stood there....i was amused....but practice in the morning at 9, then off to ft. worth to see some family and my ailing grandmother......until next time

My first and last sports rally :(

my first and last sports rally...class of '06 represented it nicely i though....plus #23 represented too....second and last scrimmage tomorrow agains #7 ranked team in Cen-Tex Hays....they are pretty good.....but we aren't bad...so we'll see...hopefully i do better than last wk....sat. and sun. goin to see my grandma in ft. worth....she is going downhill pretty fast they think...so we'll see.....until next time

yeah right...it's been a long week, and today is what they call "national hump day" i believe...in other words, only halfway through the week....sports rally tomorrow, which i believe is big waste of time...then scrimmage on friday against hays....."Don Joseph" has no skills....good test for us though...we'll see....until next time

Second day of escuela!

second day of school went off without a hitch....yearbook sounds like it will be fun, especially since i have been named "computer specialist"...fun fun....but we shall see what happens....basically all my classes are sit around and do nothing so far, until ACC starts the 29th.....so..football is going ok...every day more people quit...and everyday everybody talks about how much they want to quit....but they don't....i guess it'll all be worth it when it comes time for the "Friday Night Lights".....until next time

Night of last first day of school!

Well....today was fun....new rules.....all of them ok except for us being required to tuck in our shirts...which is dumb and i haven't had to do that since junior high....but that aside, i have a pretty easy schedule....or very easy schedule except for the dual credit classes which will be difficult, not hard..football is about to get on my nerves, our team leaders have no leadership, nobody wants to be there, and that includes me unfortunately....but hopefully that will improve...hopefully.....well my evening is gone, as i'm sure will be the case every day for the next 2 months...joy joy.....until next time

Sitting here the night before my last first day of school....for now at least....and my thoughts are....oh well..i'm not sure i should be sad, or happy or what...!?! If i wasn't in football, i probably would be bored out of my mind. So i guess thats a perk. More school updates to come!
