ahh mother nature

i always find it amusing when texans, at least central texans (i cant speak for the rest of the state) when faced with some sort of winter weather, whether it be snow, ice, sleet, or all of the above mixed together; they have this persona where they just freak. they drop whatever they're doing and must stay home with only one venture out of the house: HEB (or their friendly neighborhood grocer, in this case being HEB. now i dont know if its the weather men that instill this fear, or if its just the fact that most people can count on one hand how many times they've seen such weather in texas. that may be the case im not sure. but its funny to venture into the grocery store and see the whole place picked over like GAP outlet on tax free weekend...and thats saying something. so anyways....i know we got ice and sleet but im pretty sure we didnt get snow in college station...seeing as how i ventured out sunday evening after i arrived in town, and monday afternoon both to get books for the semester....so today i experienced what my dad referred to as "cabin fever." haha never heard of that one but i guess it is what it is. so today i ventured out about 30 feet to de-ice my car, all half inch thick coating of it....that was actually fun....hope it ices during finals wk in may so i can relieve some stress!! i did however manage to salvage the cast off my side mirror....its in the freezer as we speak (we'll see how long it lasts)....2 days out of school...supposed to start yesterday but we wont start tomorrow so an extra 2 days was ok....if u want 2nd half mizzou trip details, head on over to my fellow blogger's site www.jhellums.blogspot.com ...and for the new Sizzle n JMizzle single head on over to our myspace

until next time...peace and love

MIZZOU Day 1 & 2

well day one began yesterday..monday morning at 530 am on the nose....we were supoosed to leave at 6..well.....well that turned into 645...glad i woke up early for that occasion right....yeah....exactly what i was thinking....so i didnt expect such a journey....when agreeing to such a trip..you never really think of the journey and hourage...but....i enjoyed most of it...needless to say i didnt enjoy oklahoma very much....every town looked exactly the same....i did however enjoy the biggest mcdonalds anywhere...which goes over the road i might add...got to mizzou about 730 after about 8 stops for food or bathroom...stayed in blue springs(15 mins east of KC; and where Kim lives) and we just chilled around here last night(very tired)...so today was to be our day of fun....jeremy and i got our wakeup call about 1130 and we got ready and ventured out for lunch here in blue springs to a place by the name of "Big Biscuit"....i got biscuits and gravy..and may i just say they arent as good as Mr. Fred's...after that we drove into KC and on the way we got to experience 2 of the most prized landmarks in KC according to Jeremy and I....Arrowhead Stadium and Kaufmann Stadium...where the Chiefs and Royals play respectively.......they were fantastic....then we ventured into downtown...that was cool....that was just to drive around..we returned about 4 hours later to ice skate at the Crown Center...right next door to the Hallmark Worldwide Headquarters!!! that was my first time ice skating...so needless to say...i was horrible....lets just say..the wall was my friend....so after about half an hour of that we headed to starbucks for a much deserved cup of Chai Tea..then we headed back to Blue Springs to upload all our photos and videos of the day and rest up for what promises to be a great day tomorrow....until................tomorrow..God willing of course..
Peace
